You helped us make it to our seventh birthday! That’s right – Dawg House opened its’ doors on August 20th, 2004, and we’re still barking about how great you and all of your dawgs are! Thanks for coming in, being a big part of our pack, and keeping things nice and fuzzy! WOOF!

We wanted to share this idea with all of you who may be riding – or considering riding – in the 2011 El Tour de Tucson. You can choose to sign up through the Humane Society of Southern Arizona (HSSA) and pledge your proceeds to benefit local animals in need!
The Humane Society of Southern Arizona is participating as a beneficiary in the University Medical Center El Tour de Tucson Presented by Diamond Ventures. You can raise funds for our animals through your El Tour de Tucson ride or through the indoor event (which is held on stationary bikes).
El Tour de Tucson (Outdoor Ride): Saturday, November 19, 2011
El Tour is an amazing bike ride attracting over 9,000 cyclists of all ages and abilities from throughout the United States, including novice, intermediate, advanced, and professional riders. What all riders of El Tour share is a desire to get on their bikes, meet great people and have a fun doing it!
Participants may choose to cycle 109, 79, 66, or 40 miles, plus a 4-mile & 1/4- mile Kids & Family Fun Ride, open to kids, parents and friends.
El Tour cyclists (signing up through HSSA) receive an official event t-shirt, cycling socks from HSSA, goody bag, police, route and SAG support, aid station refreshments, published results and more! And all finishers are awarded a special engraved medallion at the finish line for their accomplishment.
How it would benefit HSSA? All contributions you raise from family, friends, and business associates for your ride will benefit the animals in our care. Bring your dawgs and help support the American Cancer Society!
The American Cancer Society Bark for Life is an American Cancer Society Relay for Life fundraising event that honors the caregiving qualities of canine companions.
This event will be held Sunday, March 28th at New District Park (Silverbell and Cortaro) from 9:00am to 1:00pm. If you’re interested, we have extra signup sheets at Dawg House!
What: Dog washing by roller derby girls, plus beer!
Who: A benefit for the Tucson Roller Derby and the Humane Society of Southern Arizona.

Saturday April 3rd, 3pm-8pm

We invite your entire family and pet(s) to participate in the 2nd Annual Valley Animal Hospital Tucson Canine Classic, Tucson’s largest dog-walk and newest Pet Festival! The inaugural event was a huge success, 200+ pet parents and 300+ dogs participated and had a great time! Walk/run 5K or 1 mile with hundreds of friends to raise funds for local rescue groups. Folks without dogs are also invited! Part of the proceeds will benefit the Foundation for Animals in Risk (FAIR) and hundreds of dogs in need.
Visit the Pet Festival and the 50+ exhibitors. Food, fun, music, Doggy Fashion Show, Doggy Talent Show, Kids’ and Puppies’ 100 yard dash and much more. Vaccination Station will provide free microchips to the first 100 participants and discounted ones for the rest of your pets. Please visit their booth at the expo to pick up a coupon for your free microchip.
Our mission is simple: promote microchip awareness and healthy families & pets, raise much needed funds and supplies for FAIR and offer an outstanding family festival!
